  • The Service Dept. at Columbia H-D is top notch!  Always willing to help and answer my questions.  Most recently with troubleshooting my stereo system blown speakers. Stu & Lenny checked out my bike, gave me options that are available in a very short time.  Also BEAT labor cost of the install of speakers by a local stereo shop.  Thanks for everything. You guys are the best….  Terry C.

  • Jason, I'd like to extend my many thanks to your dealership on a pleasant buying experience on the recent purchase of my 2014 FLHR. Dan Pech was a great guy to deal with, finding me exactly what I wanted, color and options and getting the bike fast. I'll be recommending your dealership to any of my friends that my be looking for a new bike. Again thanks and hats off to Columbia HD.

  • I'd like to share with you the reason that we chose to purchase a motorcycle at Columbia. We had spent several weeks shopping at different Harley dealers for a bike, & getting frustrated with the "used car salesman" dog & pony show I decided to stop in at Columbia on my way home from work one evening. I was reluctant to go to Columbia because I had heard some very bad reviews from a couple of friends of mine who ride. On the contrary of the HD dealers in the Portland area, Columbia treated us the best, most respectfully, was the most pleasant to do business with. The first person I dealt with in the store was Chuck. He saw me looking at an Ultra Classic & started chatting with me about what I was looking for & what type of riding I do. He told me he rode a Road King & was showing me several bikes, explaining the differences in the bike, the ride characteristics, etc. etc. as if he were a salesperson. After a few minutes he told me that he would get a sales person to speak with me. Puzzled I asked him what he did? He said he was a parts tech, which made sense because the first bike I was looking at was by the parts counter, but amazing in the sense that he spend the time with me talking about bikes & helping me to make an informed decision about a Harley with no financial gain in it for him. Words cannot explain the amazement, shock, disbelief. This is not the experience I discovered at any other bike dealer, much less a HD dealer. I know we had been looking very intensely at bikes for a few weeks. When I spoke with Dan at the sales desk, Jaime was also there. All of us were talking about bikes. Both Jaime & Dan were sharing about their experiences with different bikes they had ridden plus were talking again about what I was looking for. Again no cutthroat sales pressure. Jaime didn't have a if he was going to make a sale. Just talking almost as if we were buddies. Dan showed me some more baggers & asked what bike really caught my eye. I told him I rode a Road Glide & that was the bike I liked the best so far, but that I had only seen 2 in the shops I had looked at & the price wasn't right, but I was also looking at Ultra Classics. He told me he had a Road Glide that was priced right, but it was out on a test ride. I told him it was sold then. Dan looked outside, & said no it wasn't & pointed it out to me. We then walked out & looked at it. He explained to me that someone was looking at it too & was honest that that person has first choice on it. Fair enough. He still showed me the bike & explained the extra features on the bike. I told him that I would need to bring my wife down to look at the bike & she if she would be comfortable on it. But it would probably that weekend due to my work schedule. He asked if she was willing to come down & look at the bike on her own. I said that was a probability as we live not too far away. I also thought. I want to see how she will treated if I'm not around. The next day my wife went to the dealership & found Dan. Not only did he talked to her, but he listened to what she wanted in a bike as a passenger & explained that for her comfort there were some simple modifications that could be done to that bike. He also held the bike while she sat on the back of it so she could get a feel of the bike. Most important to me he spent just as much time giving value to her thoughts, understanding that we were making this purchase together. I know this to be true, because my wife called me at work not only impressed with the bike, but also impressed with how she was treated by herself at Columbia. Trust me my wife would have told me if she was treated differently & she would have been adamant about shopping else where. Needless to say Dan took me out on a test ride & that Road Glide is in the garage. Even during the financing process Dan was very personable, talking about his wife & the rides they take, not getting excited about if he is going to make a sale. I have been to Columbia a couple times since purchasing the our bike. Dan always makes a point of coming over & saying hi to my wife & I. This last weekend a friend of mine & I were riding around & we stopped in because he is looking to possibly get another bike. Dan saw me in the parking lot next to our bikes. Again he started talking about riding & that he need to get his out, typical stuff riders talk about, asked how I liked the bike. Someone walked up to my bike & was looking at it I said I didn't know much about the bike, that Dan knew more about the bike than I did. Once again he's chatting away with this guy. I thought, WOW totally cool. Then we went inside. My buddy was looking at the CVO Road King. Dan told him to sit on it, even though he saw my buddies 2013 Wide Glide parked next to my bike as well as his girlfriends Heritage. My buddy has had HDs for 30 years. Dan understood that he knew HDs didn't pressure him, allowed him to look & treated all of us with respect, even though we were window shopping. Anyway I know I'm getting a little long winded, but I just wanted to let you know that your employees could be used to train others in HD dealerships of what the experience of not only purchasing, but enjoying a motorcycle is about. Anybody can ride, but having a dealership to call home is very special.
